Food Review: Little Snitch in Scottsdale is a Vibe

Wallpapered and shabby-chic, multi-flowered and chandeliered, Little Snitch is an ultra-feminine haven specializing in elaborate coffee drinks, pretty cocktails, baked goods and brunch. It’s the fifth concept (following Soul Café, Vic & Ola’s, Alma and Pescada) for chef and restaurateur Sheila Bryson, and it’s right on trend. This is no prim tearoom, but rather a girly getaway fueled by mimosa flights and espresso martinis such as the Wake-Me-Up, sweetened with Bailey’s salted caramel and topped with creamy salted popcorn cold foam ($14). Everything on the straightforward menu is fresh, tasty and nicely presented, but nothing will rock your world, including a light Caprese omelet (mozzarella, tomato and basil, $16), and a man-size turkey sandwich, stacked high with bacon, Havarti, avocado, tomato and lettuce ($14). Salmon and avocado toast is the prettiest, most interesting dish of the day, built upon toasted sourdough layered with avocado, chilled salmon, salty capers, pickled red onions, tomato and arugula ($12). My Waldorf Salad, tossed in sweet, creamy apple dressing, is packed with greens, apples, grapes, candied bacon, walnuts, dried cranberries and blue cheese crumbles for salty contrast ($12). I love this place, and yes, the food is secondary to the vibe.

Wild Card: A house-made raspberry pop-tart ($5), smeared with pink frosting and sprinkles – worlds better than the originals.
