Grand Canyon Brewing + Distillery Vodka Soda
If White Claw Hard Seltzer has you in its unsweetened alcoholic grip, Grand Canyon Brewing + Distillery offers a local alternative. The Williams-based brewery recently rolled out ready-to-drink canned Vodka Soda ($13.99, four-pack) using its orange blossom and prickly pear “grain to glass” vodkas.
Each brightly colored 12-ounce can is filled with bubbly soda water mixed with flavored vodka. No sugar, sweeteners, chemicals or any artificial flavors, and only 98 calories, placing them squarely in the same genus as the aforementioned White Claw – only more delicious, says Alex Phillips, Grand Canyon Brewing + Distillery’s director of sales. The prickly pear option has a fragrant, melon-like ester, while the orange blossom tastes a lot like a boozy Creamsicle. “Our canned cocktails are made from grain, so they have a residual sweet flavor from the malt in the sugars in the grain.”
The canned cocktails are a great way to enjoy a low-cal drink on the fly or “anywhere having a cocktail is inconvenient, like a hotel room or on the golf course,” Phillips says. You can also enjoy them over ice, but Phillips prefers to just “crank open the can” and drink it like a beer. “That’s what brewers do.” Find Grand Canyon’s Vodka Soda at Total Wine.
