We recently chatted with Arizona Restaurant Association president and CEO Steve Chucri to learn more about this popular culinary event, now in it’s 18th year.
What’s new and exciting for 2026 Spring Arizona Restaurant Week?
To date, we have the highest amount of new restaurants participating, which is always something that we like to see. At this juncture, it looks like we’ll have almost 250 restaurants, and that’s more than we had last year.
What are some of the new restaurants?
We’re close to 30 new restaurants. We’ve got Cooper’s Hawk, Pinyon Coastal Cuisine, JING, Starfish Scottsdale, Society Swan and Bar Capri. It’s a little early, and we anticipate more.
How should a newbie approach Restaurant Week?
The great thing about Restaurant Week is that you can go on the website and look at all the restaurants that are participating and see their menus. You can take a chance on a restaurant and not have to pay what you would typically pay, and hopefully you’ll love it and want to go back. Second, and probably the most important, be sure to make a reservation. These weeks fill up really, really quickly, and if you don’t make a reservation, you may not get in.
Anything else you’d like people to know?
It’s important to know that the restaurant industry in Arizona has changed dramatically over the years. … We’re a $23 billion economy this year in Arizona alone. We’re that place that people call their home away from home to celebrate those important milestones in their lives. Is Restaurant Week an extension of that? Yes, absolutely.
