lue Sushi Sake Grill
Before year’s end, Omaha-based Flagship Restaurant Group (Pyro, Palma) will add a responsibly sourced sushi spot to its family of Arizona restaurants. Located in Tempe’s Novus Innovation Corridor. (November 2024)
El Camino
The folks from Jocque Concepts (Diego Pops, The Montauk) are opening a casual eatery in Old Town Scottsdale, spotlighting late-night bar bites, wings, burgers, sandwiches and tacos along with cold drinks and a laid-back vibe. In the shuttered Merkin Vineyards tasting room. (November 2024)
Episcope Hospitality
Led by the heirs of the Morton’s Steakhouse empire, this hospitality group is opening two new concepts at The Esplanade: Hearsay, a relaxed fine-dining restaurant and bar; and Perks, a coffee shop featuring coffees from a wide selection of local roasters and pastries from local bakeries. (November 2024)
Formation Brewing
Housed in a 10,000-square-foot space on Roosevelt Row, this Colorado-based brewery will feature 24 beers on tap, including four desert-inspired brews and a full food menu with ingredients from local purveyors and farms. (November 2024)
Saint Urban
Chef-owner Christopher Collins (The Macintosh, The Neighborly) will open an elevated neighborhood wine bar and restaurant featuring 30 rotating wines by the glass, along with cocktails, Arizona craft beers and light fare. The eatery has taken over the Rockefeller space in The Village at Hayden, where Collins operates two restaurants and an ice cream shop. (November 2024)
Electric Pickle
Try to follow along: It’s a pickleball compound in South Tempe… that also serves food. The Valley-based company, which is planning Electric Pickles in four other states, promises globally inspired cuisine in a lavish outdoor entertainment venue that covers 4 acres. Along with a two-story, 12,000-square-foot restaurant, the complex includes nine pickleball courts with private cabanas. (December 2024)

151 Hospitality
Valley restaurateurs Rick Phillips and Peter Hearn plan to debut three restaurants in the newly renovated Esplanade work-play complex early next year. The Merc Bar will be rebranded as 151 Tavern, with the look and feel of an upscale New York tavern, featuring elevated American comfort food along with a sushi and raw seafood bar. Expect cocktail classics and a strong wine program. Camello, a 6,000-square-foot “theatrical, high-energy, chef-driven restaurant,” will include live music, dancing and a cocktail lounge. Named for its breathtaking views of Camelback Mountain, the restaurant will also boast a lush patio for al fresco dining and drinks. Little Pickle, Phillips’s Jewish deli pop-up experiment of last winter, will now have a permanent brick-and-mortar space to dispense its incomparable pastrami sandwich, New York-style bagels, house-smoked salmon and other deli favorites. CATCH
Scottsdale Fashion Square welcomes a globally influenced, upscale seafood restaurant that will also serve sushi, sashimi and steaks. This new-to-market restaurant from Catch Hospitality Group has outlets in New York City, Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Aspen. (Early 2025)
Fork & Dagger Hospitality
Owner Julian Wright will roll out two new concepts in 2025: Carmen Cantina, a jungle- and Tulum-inspired Mexican restaurant with front and back patios and lush landscaping at Centerpoint on Mill Avenue in Tempe; and Tropic Thunder, “a neighborhood bar with tiki vibes” in Downtown’s Roosevelt Row Arts District as part of an adaptive reuse project. Drinks only, no food. (Early 2025)

George & Gather
Downtown Chandler will soon be home to this casual, upscale restaurant with a scratch kitchen, bar and market housed in an adaptively reused commercial space. The format will be quick-serve, counter-order breakfast and lunch; and dinner focused on local and organic ingredients and highlighted by sourdough pizzas. (Early 2025)
IndiBar
The shuttered Rancho Pinot Grill space in Scottsdale’s Lincoln Village Shops will become an elevated Indian restaurant combining traditional flavors with modern techniques. The restaurant will feature a charcoal tandoor oven and Indian-inspired craft cocktails. (Early 2025)
Pretty Decent Concepts
The parent company of Wren & Wolf, Chico Malo and Trophy Room will open four concepts in early 2025. CLEAVERMAN will be a classic steakhouse and lively bar at Downtown’s revitalized Arizona Center, where it will be joined by Filthy, a swanky piano bar with a private back-door entrance and strong martinis. Meanwhile, the shuttered P.F. Chang’s location on Mill Avenue will play host to Drop Dead Gorgeous, a bar celebrating the “the golden era bars of the ’70s” with vintage digs and nostalgic cocktails, and Filthy Animal, a new restaurant and bar inspired by “the beauty and brutality of the jungle” and centered around a wood-fire cooking pit. Saint Pasta
The popular food truck run by Racan Alhoch will now have a brick-and-mortar location in the former the larder + the delta space in Downtown Phoenix. The menu will boast several new handmade pasta options and family-size entrées. (Early 2025)
Telefèric Barcelona
A family-owned restaurant group in California will open an Arizona location of its flagship restaurant in Scottsdale Fashion Square, highlighting Spanish tapas, entrées, paella, innovative craft cocktails and sangria. (Fall 2025)
Élephante
Though it was originally slated for early 2024, this coastal Italian restaurant and bar from Wish You Were Here Group aims to open its first location outside of Los Angeles with a Scottsdale Fashion Square outpost in 2025. The 12,000-square-foot restaurant will serve signature wood-fired pizzas, fresh pastas, premium meats and seafood along with a robust craft cocktail program and wine selection. (Winter 2025)
Feta Cowboy
Pita Jungle co-founders Bassel Osmani and Fouad Khodr are opening a fast-casual Mediterranean concept in south Tempe “where rustic flatbreads meet tortillas, shawarmas meet asada and kebabs meet barbecue.” (Winter 2024)
