12 Haunting Halloween Events Around the Valley

October means cooler temperatures, the beginning of pumpkin spice season, and, of course, Halloween – the beloved holiday of costumes, candy and everything scary. Across the Valley, there are dozens of events celebrating the occasion, from fall carnivals to haunted houses to music festivals.

Community Events
No matter where in the Valley you live, there are plenty of fall festivities and events that offer fun for any age range.

Annual Glass Pumpkin Patch Fundraiser
The Glass Pumpkin Patch Fundraiser will be hosted at the Holland Community Center for its fifth year. From October 25 to 27, hundreds of glass pumpkins will be on display to raise funds for future arts initiatives at the center.

Scarizona Scaregrounds
Scarizona is an interactive Halloween event meant for those 12 and older looking for a truly spooky experience. The Mesa haunted house costs $24.95 for admission and will be hosted throughout the month from 6-11 p.m. at 1901 N. Alma School Road.

Halloween Town 2024
For younger children, Halloween Town offers a range of fall-themed activities and rides designed for ages 2 to 8. The event features carnival games, a hay maze, face-painting and a pick-your-own pumpkin patch. You can attend the Gilbert event at 4500 E. Orchid Lane or in Phoenix at 2209 N. 99th Avenue, Phoenix throughout the week.

Super Unnatural Festival: Day of the Dead
For fans of EDM, Relentless Beats’ Day of the Dead festival features a lineup of huge names in electronic music, including Eric Prydz, Chris Lake, Fatboy Slim, Mochakk, The Martinez Brothers and more. The event will take place November 1 and 2 at WestWorld in Old Town Scottsdale.

Halloween-Themed Candlelight Concerts
For those looking for a classical music experience, Candlelight Concerts will be hosting a haunted concert from October 20 to 27 at the Phoenix Zoo. Performances will feature favorites from movie soundtracks, including The Addams Family, Beetlejuice, Ghostbusters and The Exorcist. Concerts take place from 7-9 p.m. Tickets start at $38.

Haunted Castle
The Haunted Castle, an immersive theatrical experience, is coming to Phoenix on October 24. Presented by the Ronin Theatre Company at the Irish Cultural Center, the week-long event will feature themed cocktails, festive music and thrilling performances.

Fall Fashion Fest
Cave + Post Trading Co. is hosting its Fall Fashion Fest on October 26. From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., guests can get access to new fall releases and gifts while enjoying a whiskey tasting, photo ops and live music.

Halloween Movie Classics
If you are a fan of classic Halloween movies, you can enjoy viewings of Haunted Mansion and Nightmare Before Christmas on the Fridays leading up to Halloween at 7 p.m. at the Skysill Rooftop Lounge at the Westin Tempe.

Black Lagoon Pop-Up Bar
Returning for its third year, this award-winning pop-up bar will be making its way across the U.S., Canada and Mexico this spooky season. The bar, which will be hosted at Sunny’s Lounge in Phoenix through November 1, will serve numerous themed cocktails with spooky names like Siren’s Song and Nightmare Fuel.

Lakeside Bar & Grill’s Beetlejuice Party
With the new Beetlejuice film out this month, Peoria’s Lakeside Bar & Grill is hosting a themed Halloween party on Saturday, October 26. A tradition since the restaurant’s opening in 2008, the all-day event will feature happy hour specials and discounts, free meals for kids before 4 p.m., Beetlejuice-themed food and drinks, and costume contests (for the kids in the daytime and adults at night).

“The Hot Chick in Wonderland”
If you’re a fan of Alice in Wonderland, take a moment to walk through the whimsical world of the story at this pop-up bar at The Hot Chick in Old Town Scottsdale. Until Halloween, the bar will feature story-inspired decor, themed cocktails and weekly events including a High Tea Party every Thursday night, featuring an appearance from the Mad Hatter.

LDV Winery’s “Come Over October”
In preparation for the spooky season, LDV Winery celebrates “Come Over October,” filled with a variety of Halloween-themed events, including a Halloween-themed paint and sip on October 23, a pumpkin bundt cake and wine pairing the weekend before Halloween, and an all-day pairing special on Halloween.
