The Friday after Thanksgiving has long been a favorite day for craft beer drinkers to line up outside local liquor stores for the annual release of Goose Island’s Bourbon County Brand Stout. Phoenix-area breweries are also part of the Black Friday festivities with plenty of big and rare beers being released. Here’s a quick game plan guide to seeking out local craft brews on November 25.

Wren House x Bacanora Collab

The beer wizards at Wren House Brewing got together with the culinary masters at Bacanora to create a southwest-inspired lager and its barrel-aged companion. Yes, our editor Craig’s head has exploded just thinking about this collaboration of local legends. Ali Shonak and Ali Shonak Reserva are available starting Friday at 11 a.m.

Barrel-Aged Imperial Stouts at Tombstone

Ah, the law of rarity! You know something is good when it’s hard to come by and that’s always the case when Tombstone Brewing comes out with a barrel-aged beer. This Friday, there are a limited number of cans available at the original Tombstone location as well as the Phoenix brewpub. Three different styles are aged in rum barrels, Heaven Hill Bourbon barrels and Pikesville Rye barrels and each weighs in at 15.7% ABV. Get it Friday because they won’t last long.

Flannel Buddies 4 Lyfe at Goldwater Brewing

Stay warm and grab a buddy for the annual release of this Imperial Stout collab between Goldwater and Dark Sky Brewing. Goldwater is going big this year with a Black Friday bundle that includes a pair of glasses, a logo flannel and a four-pack of the 12% ABV  beer. The $99 bundle is available starting at noon.

Black Mage Tap Takeover at 8-Bit Aleworks

Westside stout lovers, rejoice! The annual lineup of “hacked Black Mage” stout variants hits the taps at 6 a.m. on Black Friday. The different varietals include Candied Pecan, Mexical, Neapolitan and Very Berry Cherry.

The Greed of Fisk and Gould at Bone Haus Brewing

It’s a classic story of greed, currency manipulation, politics and cronyism that makes up the tall tale of Fisk and Gould. Read it for yourself on the can label of this 10% ABV Maple Chocolate Imperial Stout at Bone Haus in Fountain Hills. The beer releases on Wednesday, November 23, but the story behind it is all about Black Friday.
