Look for shapes such as fusilli (corkscrew), conchiglie (shells), rigatoni (ridged tubes) and gemelli (twisted rope). Available in either whole wheat or Siena spice (cayenne pepper, garlic and onion powders, turmeric and lemon extract), these fresh dry pastas ($3.99-$4.99 for 12 ounces) are best consumed within six to eight months.

Find the fresh dry pasta at the store on 40th Street, just north of Thomas, or at Whole Foods. The fresh frozen pasta ($8-$12) is currently available only at the store.
