If you’ve ever Googled “skillet chicken recipes” or “30-minute dinners,” you’ve no doubt stumbled upon the work of Natasha Bull. The Canadian photographer and food blogger – who splits her time between Vancouver and Phoenix – has amassed a devoted following (nearly 760,000 Instagram followers at press time) for her approachable and foolproof recipes for crowd-pleasers like creamy garlic chicken, easy sausage rigatoni and lemon-chicken orzo soup. With her sister and co-author Miranda Sayer, Bull has corralled more than 100 recipes into a debut cookbook, Salt & Lavender: Everyday Essentials (self-published, $39.99). It’s organized by type of dinner – pasta and noodles, one-pot and casseroles, Asian-inspired, etc. – for browsing by cravings. Helpfully, each recipe also comes with a QR code you can scan for more details, including nutrition information, substitutions, variations, serving suggestions and ideas for what to do with leftovers.
