Danny Zelisko Presents 50th Anniversary Memorabilia Exhibit
To say Danny Zelisko brought the stars to Arizona is an understatement. From booking before-they-were-big acts like The Police at Dooley’s Nightclub in Tempe to bringing Billy Joel to the opening of the then Desert Sky Pavillon (now Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre), the concert promoter transformed Phoenix into a bonafide live music destination over the last five decades. Zelisko has obviously collected a fair amount of memorabilia in his storied career, which he’s putting on display to celebrate his golden anniversary in the music industry. 5-8 p.m. This event is free. Sarah McLachlan
The Canadian singer-songwriter is celebrating the 30th anniversary of her breakthrough album, Fumbling Toward Ecstasy, by playing it from start to finish. Babehoven
In another case of an indie band making music that doesn’t sound like their band name, Babehoven’s latest album, Water’s Here In You, won’t conjure up images of female classical composers or songs filled with kitschy titles. Rather, Maya Bon and Ryan Albert have crafted an organic blend of folk and shoegaze mixed with thoughtful lyrics that build a reflective mood.
