2026 City Guide

“TWO-FACED” is generally not an epithet of endearment. I’m thinking of literary figures, mostly: Batman villain Harvey Dent, Game of Thrones smoothie Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish and Kishi, the hyena-faced Angolan demon of deception (thank you, Google AI).

But my team here at PHOENIX hopes this dual-cover, Janus-like special issue rehabilitates the term for you, at least a little. By now, you’ve probably noticed that City Guide – our annual high-season almanac of places to eat, things to do and experiences to gobble up in Greater Phoenix, which commences after my little editor’s note here – has a conjoined friend in 2026. Namely, the also-annual WM Phoenix Open Field Guide.

Yeah, I know: That’s a lot of guiding! 180 combined pages worth.

Why conjoin them? Well, call it an experiment in efficiencies. We tend to have WMPO coverage in the City Guide, anyway, so we’re seeing how they play together. Maybe we’ll do it again, maybe we won’t.

But whether you’re a visitor from out of town or one of our cherished local subscribers, this two-faced City Guide will deliver all the actionable, season-specific cultural curation to which you’re accustomed, including a preview of Scottsdale Art Week (now in its second year), scads of dining listings with special Top 3 callouts, a one-of-a-kind shopping section and much more.

Just no Phoenix Open content this time. You’ll need to flip the book for that.
