If you’d like your Yuletide to be a little less Southwest and a little more Stars Hollow, head to Whitefish, Montana, where local, family-owned Averill Hospitality recently rebranded the rustic Pine Lodge as the Whitefish Riverfront Hotel.

“The Whitefish Riverfront Hotel is now managed locally, allowing for a more personalized experience for guests and a strong connection to the community,” says Edna White, Averill Hospitality’s director of marketing.

The hotel also underwent significant renovations earlier this year, including an exterior refresh, lobby redesign, retail and event space expansion, and upgrades to the property’s fitness center and game room.

Nestled on the banks of the scenic Whitefish River, the 76-room lodge is a short drive from prime skiing and snowshoeing locations like Glacier National Park and Whitefish Mountain Resort. It’s also steps from Whitefish’s town center, where local volunteer committee Whitefish Shines gathers every November to decorate the downtown area with garlands, wreaths, snowmen and massive bells.

“The streets leading to the downtown center are lined with light posts decked with illuminated snowflakes, brightening winter nights and enhancing the holiday spirit through mid-February,” White says.

November/December room rates range from $139-$259/night. whitefishriverfronthotel.com
