Closing

After 35 years in Scottsdale’s McCormick Ranch, Chart House has closed and been sold to Prime Steak Concepts (Mastro brothers and business partner Scott Troilo.) The group will demolish the building and debut a new upscale steakhouse in its place.

Open for a short three months, Da Kitchin Grill in Ahwatukee has closed.

In June, Filiberto’s Mexican Food closed eight restaurants, including locations in Chandler, Gilbert, Scottsdale, Phoenix, Avondale and Peoria.

Flancer’s in Mesa will close after 17 years, but the Gilbert location will remain open.

Hap’s Pit Barbecue in Phoenix, owned by Christina Darroch, will close after 34 years.

Texas-based Joe’s Crab Shack at Arizona Mills has called it quits, leaving no outlets in Arizona.

Chef Stephen Jones has closed The Larder + The Delta after nine months in the former Binkley’s midtown location.

Mellow Mushroom has closed its Tempe pizzeria on Mill Avenue, but the Phoenix, Scottsdale and Mesa locations are still open.

Moon Pie: Pizza & Patio on Roosevelt Row (in the former Teddy’s Preserve space) closed in April.

Peoria’s Rec Pizza & Detroit Eats lost its lease, forcing the pizzeria to close. According to the restaurant’s website, the owners will let customers know if they find a new location.

After 15 years in Old Town Scottsdale, Evening Entertainment Group’s R&R Gastropub has shuttered.

Tabe-Mono Sushi & Shabu in Ahwatukee has closed after four years.

After almost seven years, Transplant City Beer Company in Litchfield Park has closed due to its lease not being renewed.
