Coors Light Birds Nest

Every week, we present a curated list of live music in a wide range of genres around the Valley. This week’s column features legendary country singers, both old and new.

February 4
Foster the People
If you believed you had nailed down Foster the People’s sound after hearing the dark grooves of its 2009 hit “Pumped Up Kicks,” think again. Over the years, it has reinvented itself as an experimental dance-pop group on its fantastic new record, the upbeat Paradise State of Mind. 8 p.m. Check website for ticket prices. The Van Buren, 401 W. Van Buren St., Phoenix, 480-659-1641, livenation.com

February 5
Jordana
If there is a through line in indie singer-songwriter Jordana’s discography, it’s her journey of self-discovery. While her previous records found her rooted in ’90s alternative, her latest, last year’s Lively Premonition, is as bright as the California sky under which she currently resides. 8 p.m., $17-$20, Valley Bar, 130 N. Central Ave., Phoenix, 602-368-3121, valleybarphx.com

February 5-8
Coors Light Birds Nest
The party never stops at “The Greatest Show on Grass.” There’s something for everyone at this post-tournament music festival, which takes place across the street from TPC Scottsdale. This year’s lineup includes Luke Bryan, Jelly Roll, Swedish House Mafia and yes, Nickelback. Check the website for times and prices. 17020 N. Hayden Rd., Scottsdale, 480-585-4334, coorslightbirdsnest.com

February 8
Randy Travis
As many of his fans know, the legendary country singer Randy Travis suffered a stroke in 2013, severely limiting his ability to speak and sing. Despite this, he’ll still play a role during this celebration of his years behind the mic, but the vocals will be performed by James Dupré, Travis’ co-star in The Price. 7:30 p.m., $62.50-$90, Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, 7380 E. Second St., Scottsdale, 480-994-2787, scottsdaleperformingarts.org

February 8
Reverend Horton Heat
The legendary psychobilly musician, who has been performing for decades and has influenced artists like Black Joe Lewis (who is opening for the band), has recently released a collection of covers that pays homage to the musical pioneers who shaped its sound. His trio’s tribute includes covers of Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson and Eddie Cochran. 6:30 p.m., $27-$47, Marquee Theatre, 730 N. Mill Ave., Tempe, 480-829-0707, luckymanonline.com
