Scottsdale McDowell Sonoran Preserve, Scottsdale

The double loop Kovach Family Nature Trail at the base of the McDowell Mountains skirts the scoured course of Lost Dog Wash with a level path that’s suitable for everybody. Interpretive signs placed along the route emphasize how everything in nature is connected. The colorful kiosks explain how plants, animals and even microorganisms have adapted to and depend on the forces of nature that have shaped the landscape.

While the mini lessons focus on how ecosystems stay healthy, some also include tips on how people can use yoga exercises to build strength, flexibility and mental clarity thus taking a cue from nature that both human and environmental health is a process of change and adaptation.
