Arizona Gives is celebrating its 10th anniversary of the Arizona Gives Day event on April 5-6 this year. Arizona Gives Day is a 24-hour online fund-raising event that encourages the public to ‘give it forward’ by donating to local 501c3 nonprofit agencies serving communities across the state. During this 24-hour period, there are also many cash incentive prizes awarded to participating nonprofits.

In 2021, $7.1 million was raised for Arizona nonprofits through AZGives.org. While the Arizona Gives program accepts donations year-round, the majority of donations are given during Arizona Gives Day giving period which begins March 15 with ‘early giving’ and continues until the big ‘day’ April 5 (noon) – April 6 (noon) this year. The event is hosted by the Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits and the Arizona Grantmakers Forum and presented by FirstBank.

PHOENIX Magazine is proud to support Arizona Gives and Arizona nonprofits by raising awareness about the critical role they play. Arizona Gives helps people find, learn about and contribute to the causes they believe in while enabling Arizona nonprofits to share their stories and engage the community though a unique online giving platform at AZGives.org.

“Arizona Gives Day is an opportunity to learn about the good work nonprofits do every day in communities large and small and to expand their reach to potential new donors and even volunteers,” said Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits CEO Kristen Merrifield.

“The event also evens the playing field for all nonprofits, regardless of their size or whether they operate on a hyper-local or statewide basis — particularly for those that may not have the ability, the staff or the bandwidth to take on a similar fund-raising challenge.”

Make A Difference

Arizona nonprofits change lives every day. Every single donated dollar helps struggling men, women and children who benefit from services, resources and advocacy that social service agencies provide. Donations also impact our quality of life through programs, exhibits, shows and educational opportunities offered by arts and cultural organizations. These examples only scratch the surface of the good work being done across the state – there are so many more.

We invite you to read this special section to learn more about the charities that help our vibrant state thrive. Then, select a nonprofit that speaks to you at AZGives.org and make a donation between March 15 and April 6 this year. Or perhaps you feel driven to create a personal fundraiser page for a specific nonprofit on AZGives.org so you can encourage others to join you in supporting their mission. The choice is yours.

AZGives.org makes it easy for you to find a nonprofit (or nonprofits) in your community by providing several filters to narrow your search by cause, geography or even leadership type. You can give to one or more causes right away or you can schedule recurring gifts by creating a donor account to track your giving.
