The Rockin’ Taco Street Fest is coming back to Chandler! After not hosting the event last year due to COVID-19, this year’s festival marks the 10th annual Rockin’ Taco Street Fest, and festival organizers are going all out!
Whether you like tacos or live music, this year’s festival has it all. There are so many things to do, including:
Tacos: Who doesn’t love a good taco? The Rockin’ Taco Street Fest boasts more than 20 local restaurants and food purveyors representing classic Mexican cuisine through one of the most iconic south-of-the-border dishes. With fillings ranging from beef to veggies and even dessert, anyone can find something they like – especially for $2 for your first taco.
Music: Metalachi, the world’s preeminent heavy metal mariachi band, will be headlining this year’s festival. The fierce fivesome will be performing hard rock classics like, “Crazy Train”, “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and many more.
Lucha Libre: Rockin’ Taco Fest will also be hosting Lucha Libre matches. This traditional, fast-paced performance is great for the whole family and with five total matches, photo opportunities and autographs from the wrestlers, you have to be there!
Hot Chile Eating Contest: Videos of people eating hot chiles are trending on social media, but is it for real? Rockin’ Taco Fest will show you by having people eat piquant peppers right before your eyes.
Mechanical Taco Ride: Instead of riding the mechanical bull, come ride the mechanical taco! Try to hang on to that shell for as long as you can for some laughs and entertainment.
Little Amigo’s Play Area: Admission for children under 12 is free, so if you plan on bringing little ones, then they can have a blast in the Little Amigos play area.
Drinks: The Rockin’ Taco Fest offers some great drinks to wash down all those tacos. These include fruit fresca, cerveza, margaritas, micheladas and more.
More Music: Along with Metalachi, there are plenty of other music options, including DJ Sombrero, who will be playing all day, and the Walkens, who will be playing two sets throughout the day.
Taco Eating Competition: Eating contests are fun to watch, and when that food is tacos, what could be better? The Rockin’ Street Fest will be hosting a competition to see who can chow down the most tacos in 15 minutes, so come out and support these speed eaters.
Top Taco Competition: With all the fun events and activities to do, the Rockin’ Taco Fest will be hosting a competition to see who had the best taco of the day. Will you be there to see the winner?
