“Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans.” Jason Reidel cites the famed John Lennon quote often when discussing the beginning of the jewelry boutique he and his wife, Gorjana, founded in 2004. After Jason and Gorjana finished college at Arizona State University, they played around with jewelry-making, first selling pieces on consignment in boutiques in California. They eventually sold pieces in a trade show in New York, which led to them opening their own store, gorjana, in Laguna Beach, California.
The Reidels now have 13 gorjana locations throughout California, New York and Arizona. Each store holds a special place in their hearts, Jason says, and represents a different part of their path. The Scottsdale shop – their newest – opened last October and is the first store outside of the California and New York “ecosystem.”
The pieces are delicate, modern and high-quality, yet more affordable than most fine jewelry. The Reidels’ mission statement is “jewelry with intention, defined by quality, meant to inspire.”
