If you’ve always wanted to sip on a margarita while playing Ms. Pac Man or get tipsy trying to win Trivial Pursuit, Phoenix has a plethora of places to get your game (and drink) on. Gather a group of your most competitive friends and check at these five hip arcade and board game bars around the Valley.

Social Hall
Social Hall has the perfect atmosphere for a night out with friends. Grab a seat in the spacious restaurant or on the patio, which is packed with firepits and hammocks. Head over to the game area to play Shuffleboard, Skee-Ball, pool, ping-pong, giant Jenga or foosball. Social Hall has a few free arcade games to choose from like Pac-man, Frogger, Big Buck Hunter or Mario Kart. After a round of games, head upstairs to the Rafter Room and order a carefully crafted cocktail at the speakeasy-inspired bar. We recommend the Moscow mule made with house-made ginger beer and topped with lime slush.

Bonus Round
A hidden gem in northern Phoenix, Bonus Round is the epitome of “barcade” with an extensive list of rotating draft beers and cleverly named cocktails. A great spot for gamers, this arcade is decorated with a game-themed mural and features free old-school arcade games like Killer Queen, Gauntlet, Ms. Pacman and NBA Jam. They even have a console gaming station set up with a Nintendo, Wii and Play Station as well as plenty of table-top games and even a few pinball machines (pinball machines are not free).

Cobra Arcade Bar
Cobra Arcade Bar is the place to be on weekends. While you’re playing games, listen to a local DJ or grab a bite to eat at one of the bar’s food trucks. All games are operated with tokens that can be purchased at an onsite token machine. Different specials are offered each week. Wednesdays are for the ladies who get to play for free all night long and on Tuesdays, each drink purchase gets you free tokens.

All games are sorted into categories like strategy, trivia, party, dexterity or nostalgia. Munch on appetizers like chips and guac while battling against your friends.
