maranaTaste… Marana?
Famously home of the Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain, the Gila County town of Marana is also making a bid for culinary prestige. The city’s Marana Gastronomy Tours promise food tastings, foodway seminars and flavors inspired by “gourmet foragers.” For rezzes, call Gray Line Tours at 520-622-8811 or email at info@graylinearizona.com.

Wine B&B Deal
The hospitality scene in Sonoita wine country in Southern Arizona has been slow to get underway, so award-winning winemaker Kief Joshua Manning came up with an elegant solution: start his own B&B. Through October 18, couples can enjoy an overnight stay at the new Kief-Joshua Vineyards B&B, with two souvenir glasses and complimentary wine tastings at Kief-Joshua Vineyards, The Village of Elgin Winery and Sonoita Vineyards, for $154. Visit kj-vineyards.com for more info.

Lap’ping It Up

A new travel aggregator called Book Lapland to promote the region’s singular and underserved treasures, including St. Elmo’s fire viewings, midnight sun excursions in the summer and dog-sledding in the winter. The site boasts it offers “the world’s biggest range of arctic activities.” Who would argue? Greenland? booklapland.com
