“The sweet potato fries at Delux. I get half sweet, half russet, and they do a fun little dance with my applewood-bacon-topped Delux Burger.”

“The massive, subtly sweet potato pancakes at Perk Eatery are a constant craving (with sour cream and applesauce, please!). You also can’t beat the incredible potato knish at Chompie’s. It’s a mound of mashed potatoes baked in a flaky puff pastry pocket.”

Hangover Fries. Photo via FacebookLauren Loftus, associate editor
“The Hangover Fries at Salut Kitchen Bar are bonkers, and do as they promise. Crispy, salty shoestring fries topped with cheddar, homemade beer and chorizo gravy, and a sunny-side up egg soak up last night’s revelries and bad choices.”

“Fries, in order of preference: 1) Stoopid Fries at Lo-Lo’s Chicken & Waffles. They’re loaded with chunks of chicken, gravy, peppers and onions and smothered in cheese! 2) Truffle and parmesan fries at Zinc Bistro. 3) Broasted fries at Guido’s Chicago Meat & Deli.”

“The frittes at Joe’s Midnight Run. They are served with garlic aioli, chimichurri aioli and delicious curry ketchup.”
