With her velvety voice and silvery six-string skills, Madeleine Peyroux has had the hearts and ears of jazz fans for nearly twenty years. Her latest album, “Keep Me in Your Heart for a While: The Best of Madeleine Peyroux” (Rounder Records) features the titular song (a cover of the Warren Zevon tune), along with songs in both English and French (“La Vie En Rose” and “J’ai Deux Amors” are among them). Peyroux will perform two shows at MIM on Tuesday, July 26. Tickets for the 7 p.m. show cost $43.50-$58.50. Tickets for the 9 p.m. show cost $38.50-$53.50.
Topping off this trinity of female jazz vocalists is Cécile McLorin Salvant, a singer the “New York Times” called “the finest jazz singer to emerge in the last decade.” A classically trained pianist, McLorin Salvant won the Thelonious Monk International Jazz Competition in 2010, and her third album, “For One to Love” (Mack Avenue Records), grabbed the Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album this year. McLorin Salvant will perform two shows at MIM on Tuesday, August 16. Tickets for the 7 p.m. show cost $38.50-$48.50. Tickets for the 9 p.m. show cost $28.50-$38.50.
