Coronavirus Cases Exceed 1,400
On Wednesday, the Arizona Department of Health Services reported a total of 1,413 confirmed cases of coronavirus throughout Arizona. A statewide test kit shortage suggests that the case count could be higher.
29 Known Deaths Have Been Reported
The health department has confirmed 29 deaths as of Wednesday morning, 11 of which have occurred in Maricopa County.
Testing for Coronavirus is Still Limited
A test kit shortage has resulted in many Arizona residents being turned away from testing and treatment. Medical professionals simply advise people to stay home and practice social distancing.
Governor Ducey Ask President Trump to Declare a “Major Disaster”
On Wednesday, Ducey wrote a letter to Trump asking him to officially declare a “major disaster” in Arizona due to mounting COVID-19 concerns. The move would support disaster-response efforts throughout the state.
