At restaurateur David Chang’s cozy downtown Glendale eatery, the white tin ceiling and coordinating panel molding have a vintage vibe in keeping with the building’s circa-1895 construction. Cuff’s menu is similarly homey. Sweet Carolina barbecue sauce, smoky sausage and melt-in-your-mouth meat make the pork shoulder sandwich a must-try, even if its buttery flavor is eclipsed by the outstanding 8-hour slow-smoked brisket. The standout is Cuff Posole: handmade pulled-pork-stuffed potstickers combine with starchy hominy and lip-smacking tomato gravy for a stick-to-your-ribs dish that’s so yum. Adjoining event venue Off the Cuff is available for private parties and hosts stand up comedy every month.
