Every week, we present a curated list of live music in a wide range of genres around the Valley. This week features aprés-golf bangers in Scottsdale and the return of an ’80s folk-pop legend.

 February 4-7
Coors Light Birds Nest

Are you headed to the WM Phoenix Open this year? Of course you are! After you’re done partying at the 16th hole, stick around for golf’s best afterparty. February 5-7
Suzanne Vega

The refrain of “Tom’s Diner” has haunted generations of fans. If you’ve lost track of the singer-songwriter since that song took over the airwaves, you can catch up on her catalog when she performs three shows featuring a setlist that spans her decades-long career. $65.50–$80.50, Musical Instrument Museum. 4725 E. Mayo Blvd., Phoenix, 480-478-6000, mim.org

February 6
Blue Öyster Cult

This classic rock band had a huge influence on heavy metal with hits like “Godzilla” and “Burnin’ for You.” But it also made the cowbell cool when they used it for the iconic track “(Don’t Fear) The Reaper.” Or was it Will Ferrell? 8 p.m. Check website for ticket prices. The Showroom at Gila River Resort, 5040 Wild Horse Pass Blvd., Chandler, 800-946-4452, playatgila.com

February 7
John Lemire Benefit

If you ever visited Long Wong’s or Nita’s Hideaway back in the day, chances are you spotted John Lemire during a show. The Mill Avenue mainstay died recently, and to celebrate his life, a few bands are getting together to pay tribute to him and raise money for the Paz de Cristo Community Center in Mesa. Scheduled to appear are Minibosses, Liar’s Handshake and the Tucson band Got Bit! 8:30 p.m., $10, Yucca Tap Room, 29 W. Southern Ave., Tempe, 480-967-4777, yuccatap.com

The movie will play above a live band as vocalists performing the songs from the hit soundtrack. Check website for ticket prices. Ikeda Theater at Mesa Arts Center, 1 E. Main St., Mesa, 480-644-6500, mesaartscenter.com
