Every week, we present a curated list of live music in a wide range of genres around the Valley. This week’s column features rap royalty and music from your favorite movie.

September 29
Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats
This soul-rock collective has been endorsed as one of the great live bands by everyone from Led Zeppelin’s Robert Plant to the Grateful Dead’s Bob Weir. Now’s your opportunity to experience what all the fuss is about as the band performs tracks from its latest album, South of Here. 7:30 p.m. Check website for ticket prices. Arizona Financial Theatre, 400 W. Washington St., Phoenix, 602-514-2919, livenation.com

September 30
Ice Cube
It’s going to be a good day. The multi-hyphenate may be better known nowadays for his roles in 21 Jump Street and Three Kings than he is for his slick rhymes. But back in the day, this founding father of West Coast rap was one of the most outspoken artists out there, spitting profane rhymes about his enemies, the Los Angeles Police Department, and the politics of the time. 35 years since making his solo debut with AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted, Cube can still get angry, as evidenced by the 2018 track “Arrest the President” and last year’s return to form, Man Down. 8 p.m. Check website for prices. Desert Diamond Arena, 9400 W. Maryland Ave., Glendale, desertdiamondarena.com

October 2
Bring Me the Horizon
The British metalcore band is known for its chaotic sound, but it defied expectations with a recent album of lo-fi reinterpretations called Lo-files. The band describes the project as music for quiet introspection, different from anything it’s done before. 6 p.m. Check website for ticket prices. PHX Arena, 201 E. Jefferson St., Phoenix, 602-379-7800, ticketmaster.com

October 3
The World of Hans Zimmer: A New Dimension
The prolific film composer will not be attending this concert, which features his work on the movies Dune and Inception. However, he has authorized and curated this symphonic arena show. 7:30 p.m. Check website for prices. Desert Diamond Arena, 9400 W. Maryland Ave., Glendale, desertdiamondarena.com

October 3
Wet Leg
This Grammy-winning band from the Isle of Wight fuses catchy hooks, rapid-fire riffs and ’90s pop culture references in smart, irreverent songs. The band is touring the states in support of its well-received sophomore album, Moisturizer. 8 p.m. Check website for ticket prices. Arizona Financial Theatre, 400 W. Washington St., Phoenix, 602-514-2919, livenation.com
