John Mayer
Despite what you may think of his song “Daughters,” John Mayer has grown into quite the accomplished guitarist, evidenced by his continued association with the Grateful Dead offshoot Dead and Co. But before he heads out with his jam band friends this summer, he’s hitting the road for a solo tour. 7 p.m. Check website for ticket prices. Footprint Center, 201 E. G. Love and Special Sauce
Call them a Philly soul group or a jam band, but G. Love and Special Sauce didn’t get to where they are by doing the same thing twice. Their reputation was built on their live performances, and over three decades since the group’s debut, their stature hasn’t diminished one bit. 8 p.m., $35-$99, Crescent Ballroom, 308 N. 2nd Ave., Phoenix, 602-716-2222, crescentphx.com

101.1 The Bounce Birthday Bash
The ’90s is considered one of the influential periods for rap and hip-hop, which is what makes the lineup for The Bounce’s second birthday party a must-see. Ice Cube headlines a concert that also features Bone Thugs–n-Harmony, E-40, and Warren G. The show is sold out, but there are plenty of affordable seats available on the resale market. 7 p.m., $45-$150, Footprint Center, 201 E. Jefferson St., Phoenix, 602-379-7800, footprintcenter.com
April 9-10
M83
The French electronic band, best known for their inescapable hit “Midnight City,” seemed like the perfect band to join this year’s Coachella lineup. But Indio’s loss is Phoenix’s gain, as the group will be kicking off their latest tour in Phoenix in support of their latest album, Fantasy. 8 p.m., Check website for ticket prices. The Van Buren, 401 W. Van Buren St., Phoenix, livenation.com
