Dropout Kings
Last year, the local music community was rocked by tragedy when Adam Ramey, beloved frontman for the nu-metal outfit Dropout Kings, committed suicide at age 32, right before the band was about to head out on tour. A fan volunteered his home in Sedona to give members space to grieve, which led to former players to rejoin the lineup and save the tour. The group is now back with a renewed strength, opening for the British rock outfit Don Broco. 7 p.m., $33, The Nile Theatre, 105 W. Main St., Mesa, theniletheatre.com

Starting out as heirs to Duran Duran’s ‘80s art-rock throne, the Las Vegas group transitioned into Springsteen-worshipping arena rockers with hits like “Read My Mind” and “A Dustland Fairytale.” The band is scheduled to perform as part of Concert in the Coliseum, a musical kickoff to the WM Phoenix Open. 6 p.m. Check website for ticket prices.
