Marina
The name of the defiant British indie star’s new album gets its inspiration from ’80s cartoons: Princess of Power, while her new song “CUNTISSIMO” name-checks Salma Hayek and Thelma and Louise. That certainly has our attention. 7:30 p.m. Check website for ticket prices. Arizona Financial Theatre, 400 W. Washington St., Phoenix, 602-514-2919, livenation.com

Chance the Rapper
It’s been six years since Chance the Rapper released a new album, which has left fans asking what he’s been up to in all that time. In addition to being a judge on the reality competition show The Voice for several seasons, he’s been traveling around the globe searching for new perspectives and sounds. His latest release, Star Line, is a reflection on what he discovered. 8 p.m. Check website for ticket prices. Arizona Financial Theatre, 400 W. Washington St., Phoenix, 602-514-2919, livenation.com

Djo
The mesmerizing 2022 hit “End of Beginning” might be the decade’s first true slow jam. What’s even more surprising is when you pull up your favorite streaming service to discover Djo is Stranger Things actor Joe Keery. His music has really caught on, as the actor is making his second stop in Phoenix this year. 8 p.m. Check website for ticket prices. Arizona Financial Theatre, 400 W. Tom Kenny and the Hi-Seas
If you have kids, then you undoubtedly know the work of Tom Kenny. He’s been the voice of SpongeBob SquarePants since the show began in 1999. When he’s not articulating the thoughts of The Krusty Krab’s most dedicated employee, he fronts a rowdy 12-piece rock and soul band that will give new meaning to the Phoenix venue it will be performing at. 7 p.m., $25-$30, The Rhythm Room, 1019 E. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, 602-612-4981, rhythmroom.com

October 17
Mastodon
It’s quite a coup that the Arizona State Fair was able to snag Mastodon to perform at an event typically reserved for ’90s one-hit wonders and your dad’s favorite country singer. The band has been at the forefront of 21st-century heavy metal for more than two decades, conjuring up dark imagery and mind-altering myths that would cause Page and Plant’s jaws to drop in amazement. 7 p.m., $45-$65, Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Arizona State Fair, 1826 W. McDowell Rd., Phoenix, azstatefair.com
