Designer Purse Hooks are a Must-Have Dining Accessory

Scottsdale entrepreneur Brittney Rickert loves going to restaurants and bars with friends, but something always put a damper on her fun. “I noticed it everywhere – beautiful, often expensive purses left on the floor, slung over the backs of chairs, or awkwardly tucked away on laps,” she says. “Even when restaurants occasionally offer hooks, it requires reaching under a dirty bar or table to hang your bag near your feet, where stains and scuffs are inevitable.” In 2022, she created Attaché, her line of sleek and chic portable purse hooks, which bear little resemblance to the cheesy, flimsy purse hooks you’ll find in gift shops and discount stores. Rickert’s two designs, Aria and Divina, are available in three kinds of metal and can hold up to 35 pounds. She also teases a new development coming this summer. “We’ll be unveiling something special that we’re confident our customers will love.”

FASHION: Hecho en Sunnyslope

Of all Phoenix’s storied historical neighborhoods, it makes sense that scrappy Sunnyslope inspired a streetwear line. From its origins as a tuberculosis camp to its modern cultural diversity and revitalization efforts, Sunnyslope pride runs deep. “We want to represent our neighborhood while offering a platform for other artists to create and showcase theirs,” co-founder and Sunnyslope native Vincent Goudreau says. The brand offers limited-edition, ’Slope-centric pieces – including T-shirts, tanks, jerseys, shorts, skate decks and vinyl records – that celebrate the neighborhood’s urban legends and edgy character. The lineup features designs from homegrown ’Slopers, but the creative circle isn’t closed – the brand embraces talent from anywhere. “You may leave Sunnyslope, but Sunnyslope never leaves you,” Goudreau says.
