
Looking for art, but already been to all the museums in the Valley? Check out these little-known displays that aren’t your typical art gallery.
Grand Majestic West
On April 26, this boutique tattoo shop located in Old Town Scottsdale is presenting a curated collection of art to the public. Guests will be able to appreciate more than 30 pieces of art featuring the shop’s colorful, stylized designs. Light refreshments will also be available. For tattoos, walk-in appointments are welcome, and appointments can be made online.

Kowloon Tattoo
Known for its American and Hong Kong Traditional tattoos, Kowloon Tattoo also displays and sells photography in its Sam Kee Gallery, named for a mispronunciation of the word “camera” in Cantonese. The exhibits have previously shown work from photographers Ryan Barr and Aaron Victor Regan. Keep an eye on the shop’s Instagram for details on the next show. Third Eye Thrift
This Mesa-based thrift store not only sells vintage clothing, but also features art from local artists and designers, including prints and handmade jewelry. They also have an art and consignment program to encourage local artists to commission sales.

Jarrod’s Coffee, Tea, & Gallery
This downtown Mesa coffee shop hosts weekly events, including comedy shows and open mics, but Jarrod’s also hosts Art and Chill every third Saturday of the month, featuring live music, art and jewelry-making. Also on display at the café is Skin of the Earth, an exhibit showcasing art and fashion from prolific painter Alan Bogue, alongside art and jewelry for sale by local artisans.
