American Porter/5.6% ABV/22 IBU

Valley beer fans will generally drink Imperial IPAs and Italian pilsners all year long. The same cannot be said for malty, spicy styles like porters and stouts. In America’s hottest city, those are season-specific tipples. As such, we’ll make it our mission to imbibe a few cans of this highly quaffable porter from Cochise County’s finest brewer before winter escapes us. Owner Matt Brown and co. use toasted malts to create a slightly bitter, cocoa-forward sipper with a lacy head and balanced finish. Contrary to expectations, it’s not an overly rich oat bomb – the body is light and crisp, which suits us just fine in Phoenix. After all, it’s still 70 degrees out. tombstone.beer
