Every week, we present a curated list of live music in a wide range of genres around the Valley. This week’s column features some great indie groups to watch and listen to.

July 15
The Kid LAROI
Rescheduled from May 29. Between his latest album, The First Time, and the revealing Amazon Prime documentary chronicling its recording, the Australian rapper is about to break through to the next level. Catch him up close and personal now before you’re stuck in the nosebleeds at his inevitable arena tour in a few years. 7:30 p.m. Check website for ticket prices. Arizona Financial Theatre, 400 W. Washington St., Phoenix, 602-514-2919, livenation.com

July 16
Pedro the Lion
Indie music legend David Bazan, who performs as Pedro the Lion, paid tribute to our fair metropolis in 2019 with the reflective album Phoenix, where he grew up. Then he followed it up with a surprise sequel, the sonically dreamy Havasu. This time, he’s touring to support his latest album: the California-centric Santa Cruz. 7:30 p.m., $27.50-$37.50, Crescent Ballroom, 308 E. Second Ave., Phoenix, 602-716-2222, crescentphx.com

July 16
Il Divo
The iconic record-breaking classical quartet celebrates 20 years of performing with a tour featuring hits from its 10 albums. 7:30 p.m., $69.50-$189.50, Ikeda Theater at Mesa Arts Center, 1 E. Main St., Mesa, 480-644-6500, mesaartscenter.com

July 20
The Decemberists
Colin Meloy, the lead singer of this indie folk rock band, has a degree in creative writing and has penned several novels. It seems like a perfectly reasonable explanation why each of the Montana group’s albums, including their latest, As It Ever Was, So It Will Be Again, feels like a beautiful story unfolding before your ears. 8 p.m. Check website for ticket prices. The Van Buren, 401 W. Van Buren St., Phoenix, 480-659-1641, livenation.com

July 20
The Marias
The English/Spanish quartet is perhaps known for working with the oft-streamed Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny on the track “Otro Atardecer,” but judging from the buzz on their latest record, Submarine, this is the year they’ll hit it big on their own. 8 p.m. Check website for ticket prices. Arizona Financial Theatre, 400 W. Washington St., Phoenix, 602-514-2919, livenation.com
