Artist and entrepreneur Heather Nash grew up in Old Town Scottsdale, styling ’70s button-ups, Gap crewnecks and Frye boots she swiped from her father’s closet.

“I always liked to dress a little bit different… I never liked to follow crowds or trends,” she says. “I do like the idea of secondhand and the sustainable aspect of it. I’m also super sentimental, and I think that everything tells a story.”

She sums up the story of Nash Vintage Collective, the 2,500-square-foot retro retail emporium she opened in downtown Mesa in 2021, as “if Etsy were a store.” The “collective” refers to seven local vintage vendors that sell their “cool, funky wares” in her store, Nash says.

The rest of her inventory – vintage and upcycled clothing, handmade accessories, metaphysical memorabilia and home décor – is sourced from estate sales, wholesale vintage purveyors and local artists. “We sell vintage for the modern day,” she says, “blending vintage into everyday life and creating an eclectic vibe [with] hopes to inspire creativity and positivity.”
