The Nature Conservancy in Arizona – a nonprofit that aims to achieve conservation solutions for the Grand Canyon State’s diverse natural environments and the creatures that inhabit them – has opened submissions for its 11th annual Adventures in Nature Student Photo Contest.
The organization has partnered with Arizona Highways and AZ Family to encourage students ages 13 to 18 to enter up to two high-resolution photographs of Arizona landscapes and wildlife, from the state’s secluded pine forests to its flowing freshwater rivers.
The contest is open to all Arizona students between the ages of 13 and 18 through April 5, 2024. Images must be digital, taken in Arizona and at least 1,600 pixels wide (for horizontal photos) or 1,600 pixels tall (for vertical photos). A full list of contest rules may be found here.
A $10,000 cash prize will be divided among the contest’s top 10 finalists, whose photos will be chosen based on creativity, quality and uniqueness of the subject. The first-place winner will receive $5,000, second place will receive $2,500 and third place will receive $1,000. Each entrant after that will be named an honorable mention and receive $250 each.
