The automotive lifestyle event of the year returns to the Valley as Barrett-Jackson presents its 2024 Scottsdale Auction. The internationally televised auction sees thousands of the world’s most sought-after automobiles cross the block with no reserve. 5 Top-Selling Cars in 2023

Here are the five cars with the steepest price tags at last year’s auction. 

  • 1989 Ferrari F40
    Racecar drivers David Hart and Michel Oprey were behind the wheel of this one-off Nardo Gray supercar in the Ferrari/Porsche Challenge series in the 1990s. It retains its matching-numbers engine and gearbox and sold for $2,750,000.
  • 2005 Porsche Carrera GT
    Priced at a heady $452,989 in 2005, this rare model was originally finished in black. Its new, concours-quality paint job is a bespoke PPG Red. It sold for $1,595,000, which included a never-used roof cover, satchel and accessory bag.
  • 2019 Ford GT Lightweight Carbon Series
    This one-owner exotic can launch to 60 miles per hour in three seconds and achieve a top speed of 216 miles per hour. Equipped with 20-inch gloss exposed carbon-fiber wheels, a polycarbonate rear engine hatch and an F1-inspired, Alcantara-wrapped carbon-fiber steering wheel, it boasts a total of 10 miles on the odometer and went for $1,320,000 at auction.
  • 2020 Ford GT Carbon Series
    A true street-legal racecar, this limited-edition GT boasts $35,500 in factory options, including a blue center stripe down the middle of the exposed single carbon-fiber strip and exposed carbon-fiber side-view mirror caps. It sold for $1,320,000.
  • 1966 Shelby Group II Mustang
    One of only 16 Shelby Group II Mustangs built in 1966, this SAAC Shelby-registered ride was originally built for racing legend Ken Miles. It received a show-quality restoration in 2013 and sold for $770,000 in 2023.

  • There is plenty of public parking (just south of Bell Road, between 94th and 98th streets), with shuttle service to and from the main gate. There is a designated drop-off point near the main entrance for those using rideshare services. Valet parking is also available.
