With the legalization of sports betting in Arizona in 2021, it was only a matter of time before somebody – say, online gambling giant DraftKings – opened a sportsbook at the TPC Scottsdale. If you are planning to do some on-location wagering at the WM Phoenix Open in 2024, feel free to use this guide. We can’t guarantee they’ll accept each of these bets.

Scheffler Bets

6-1

As of December, DraftKings had Scottie Scheffler as +700 favorite to three-peat as tournament champion. We’ll take those odds all day long. The dude obviously loves the TPC.

5,000-1

How much does he love it? After sinking the final shot to complete his WMPO hat trick, Scheffler immediately disrobes and makes tender love to the 18th green.

Wardrobe Wagering

5-1

Chances that you’ll leave a heel embedded in the grass somewhere between the 5th and 6th holes if you wear your Valentinos to the Open. Don’t do it, girl.

2-1

Odds that fashionisto golfer Justin Thomas dons footwear that makes him look like a street hustler in The Wiz.

Hole-in-One Guide

10-1

In the 37-year history of the Open at the TPC, only four golfers have hit holes-in-one on the 16th hole. (Including Tiger Woods in 1997.) Stay away from this bet unless you get a +1000 return minimum…

1-2

… and then pad your bet with the near-certainty that the guy next to you will fling his half-consumed Coors Light onto the tee box in the event of said hole-in-one.

Drives and Tee Shots

9-1

Open veteran Rory McIlroy led all PGA golfers in 2023 with a 326.3-foot driving average. He would be a solid bet for “longest drive” if you can get a +900.

2-1

Odds that McIlroy tosses his club the farthest distance if he puts one of those boomers into the water, as is his wont.
