
Throughout the valley, homeowners have been polishing off their gravestones and skeletons to put on a Halloween display for visitors of all ages to enjoy. Here are our top picks throughout the Phoenix area for free displays and haunts to check out for your spooky fix.
Terror Nights, Tempe
This house features a full graveyard, including an eerie groundskeeper warning of the terror ahead. If you dare, you can join the line. Take a jaunt through the Terror Nights haunt, complete with zombies, knife-wielding characters and more. The homeowners also host a food drive for the upcoming holiday season. Santa Rita Ranch, Mesa
Featured in a TikTok that has garnered nearly 400,000 views, Santa Rita Ranch offers streets full of over the top displays through the Halloween season. The entire east Mesa neighborhood goes all out for Halloween, with each house putting on a haunting show of their own. Towering Jack Skellington’s greet you as you make your way through Osage Ave. Pro tip: Arrive just before dusk, park at a different street off of South Cactus Rd and walk to Osage.
Keeley’s Light Show, Mesa
A quiet Mesa neighborhood boasts a spooky beacon during dark October nights. Keeley’s Light Show has been projecting different themed shows from “Barbie” inspired shows to guitar riffs from the show “Stranger Things” onto their house for the holiday season for years. The Halloween season brings a huge dragon dwelling on the roof and dazzling lights across the palm trees, yard and house. Shows start at 6:30 at 1851 S. Brighton Cir., Mesa. The Skeleton Neighborhood, Sun City
This Northwestern Valley home gets a frightening facelift each Halloween. Featuring a haunted saloon, skeleton cowboys and other spooky, western-inspired decor, the animatronics literally come to life this Halloween weekend. Houses in the neighborhood follow suit with over-the-top decorations of their own. Skeleton House is located at 23625 N. 117th Dr., Sun City. This local haunt will have your adrenaline pumping with life-sized monsters, Halloween characters and other eerie entities to make your skin crawl. Visitors can keep a safe distance on the sidewalk or walk through the backyard for extra thrills. Hours 6 to 10 p.m., October 27-31.
Casa De Muertos, Phoenix
This North Phoenix home turns into a full-on haunted house every October. Here, you can spot Michael Meyers, Freddy Kruger and more scary characters from classic horror movies – or your nightmares. Visit starting at dusk through 10 p.m. Located at 1721 W. Villa Maria Dr.
The House of Haunts, Scottsdale
This Scottsdale home turns into a full haunted walk-through event, with scares around every corner. A light up graveyard can be seen from the outside, but inside you are transported into the world of scary scarecrows, Bates Motel, and other terror-filled rooms. Admission is free, but donations are accepted. Walk-throughs run from 6:45-10 p.m. nightly through Halloween at 8325 E. Lincoln Dr., Scottsdale.
Face Your Fears on 55th, Glendale
This house has a startling display, boasting a 16-foot Jack Skellington, witches, werewolves and other towering characters. This Glendale family welcomes all with the courage to walk through their home-turned-haunt on Halloween night from dusk until 10 p.m. at 8420 N. 55th Ave., Glendale.
