Last year’s ZONA Music Festival in Downtown Phoenix proved an indie music gathering in December could be a smash hit. While we wait to see if promoter Stephen “Psyko Steve” Chilton is putting together a follow-up, we’ve prepared a guide to help you narrow down this year’s options and decide which fests are best for you.

Goldrush: Sonoran Skies
October 7-8
The flagship EDM festival of local promoters Relentless Beats is taking its eye-popping dance party to Phoenix Raceway. This year’s lineup is headlined by who many consider the godfather of the genre: Tiësto. He’ll be joined by Zeds Dead, Zhu and ATLiens.

Dreamy Draw Fest
November 3-4
Margo Price and Lord Huron will join local folk and country artists, including The Senators and Taylor Glasheen, at the refurbished Scottsdale Civic Center for this inaugural festival, highlighting the sounds of the American West.

Luna del Lago Festival
November 3-5
The organizers behind the gone but not forgotten local music showcase, Apache Lake Music Festival, are moving to Peoria’s Lake Pleasant for three days of psychedelic rock and soul music. Arizona jam band legends Spafford headline. Black Joe Lewis, The Brothers Comatose and The Black Moods will also perform.
