Every week, we present a curated list of live music in a wide range of genres all around the Valley, and this week’s column features throwback acts.

July 25
Bryan Adams
The “Cuts Like A Knife” rocker is bringing Joan Jett and the Blackhearts along on his So Happy It Hurts tour. Any chance she’ll take the stage to help the classic rocker perform “Summer of ’69”? 7:30 p.m., $54.50-$144.50, Footprint Center, 201 E. Jefferson St., Phoenix, 602-379-7800, footprintcenter.com

July 25
The Moody Blues’ John Lodge
The bassist and vocalist of the progressive rock band is performing their landmark album Days of Future Passed, which features the symphonic classics “Nights in White Satin” and “The Afternoon,” in its entirety, along with other selections from the group’s extensive catalog of hits. 7:30 p.m., $35-$85, Celebrity Theatre, 440 N. 32nd St., Phoenix, 602-267-1600, celebritytheatre.com

July 26
Cowboy Junkies
The Canadian group gained popularity with their folk reimaging of The Velvet Underground’s “Sweet Jane.” Anchored by the sultry vocals of Margo Timmons, Lou Reed has frequently named their performance his favorite version of his song. But their original work, such as the 1993 hit “Anniversary Song,” keeps fans coming back for more. 7 p.m., $69.50-$80.50, Musical Instrument Museum. 4725 E. Mayo Blvd., Phoenix, 480-478-6000, mim.org

July 27
The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band
If blues fans had to single out one guitarist who’s kept the genre alive over the last few decades, Kenny Wayne Shepherd would be on most of their lips. The wunderkind has been putting out records since he was a teen and has earned the respect of the likes of Joe Walsh and Ringo Starr, among others. 7:30 p.m., $39-$69, Celebrity Theatre, 440 N. 32nd St., Phoenix, 602-267-1600, celebritytheatre.com

July 29
Yellowcard
The pop-punk group’s breakthrough record Ocean Avenue album is now 20 years old, and they’re bringing Mayday, Anberlin, and This Wild Life along for the celebration. 7 p.m., $29.50-$99.50, Arizona Financial Theatre, 400 W. Washington St., Phoenix, 602-514-2919, livenation.com
