This classic loop hike located just a few miles south of downtown Prescott winds through of broadleaf and coniferous forests with ever-changing vistas. At the top of the trail, a small clearing with picnic tables, restroom and a short spur trail that leads to the Spruce Mountain fire tower makes for a handy place to take a lunch break before heading downhill on the Isabella Trail.

GETTING THERE:
From State Route 69/Gurley Street in Prescott, turn left onto Mt. Vernon Ave. just before entering historic downtown. Continue 6.4 miles south on Mt. Vernon Ave. (which will turn into Senator Highway) and continue 6.4 miles to the Groom Creek Trailhead on the left. Roads are paved.
