Located in the coastal center of Orange County, California, Newport Beach is home to many new and exciting restaurants to check out this spring.

JOEY Newport Beach
Find JOEY in the middle of Orange County’s luxury shopping mall, Fashion Island. The newest outpost of this chic restuarant group boasts a gallery wall that highlights paintings from several local artists. An open patio and bar make it a fine place to tuck into a grilled chicken club or “herb crush” salmon with truffle beurre blanc after a long day of shopping. joeyrestaurants.com

Freelance Coffee Project
From the hearts and minds of Jeremy Creighton and Natalie Taormina comes Freelance Coffee Project, a specialty roastery where the coffee-industry veterans focus on serving single-origin brews to their tasting room guests. They also sell coffee beans from Ethiopia and have a wholesale program that helps customers create their own exclusive coffee blends. They are set to open another location in Laguna Beach this year. freelancecoffeeproject.com

Skål Pizza
This casual farm-to-table pizza place is the brainchild of chef/owner Helene Henderson, the founder of Malibu Farms, a casual counter restaurant in Orange County that sprung from Henderson’s love of growing organic foods in her backyard. Diners can expect the same produce-forward fare for which Malibu Farms is known. skalpizza.com
