If you’re in the market for a rattan vanity or vintage rug, The Found House in the Melrose District likely has exactly what you’re looking for. The LGBTQ-owned home goods store has a one-of-a-kind collection of curated furniture, décor and other goodies waiting to be “found.”

“A home should be as unique as its owner, full of items found and gathered over time. You can walk into many stores and feel like you’ve stepped into a catalog,” says owner Reilly Carpenter. “That’s not our store. When you walk into our store, you should feel surprised, inspired, maybe amused.”

The Found House recently launched a series of monthly workshops hosted by local tastemakers that Carpenter says are an extension of those feelings. His goal is to bring the community together to learn skills that make being at home more enjoyable.

“Whether that’s learning how to craft a unique centerpiece, make a specialty cocktail or perfect your charcuterie board, we believe enjoying your home is as much about what you do in it, as what you put in it,” he says. “So, we wanted to give people a place to get inspired about how they can live in their home and connect with others in their community.”

The next workshop will take place at The Found House on Thursday, December 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. during which local florist Malori Maeva of Form Floral will guide attendees as they create their own unique holiday centerpieces with fresh flowers.

All necessary supplies will be provided, plus “wine, sassy jokes and light bites,” according to The Found House’s website.

Tickets are $75 and participants will leave with their own unique arrangement and vase.
