Make-A-Wish Arizona at Ocean 44
Be one of the first 200 guests to purchase a meal from Ocean 44 in Scottsdale on Monday, October 10 starting at 5 p.m. to support Make-A-Wish Arizona. The Valley’s top trio of steak and seafood restaurants will continue its tradition of donating 100 percent of nightly proceeds to the organization. Ocean 44 will donate every dollar guests spend, excluding tax and tip. Make-A-Wish Arizona helps fulfill the wishes of children between the ages of two and a half and 17 years old with critical illnesses. The organization holds a special place in the heart of Oliver Badgio, who runs the restaurant and is part of the Make-A-Wish Arizona Board of Directors.

The Joy Bus
You can help support the mission of Arizona-based nonprofit The Joy Bus on Friday, October 14 from 5-10 p.m. by attending The Joy Bus’s 2022 Life Achievement Award Celebration. The charity will host Banner Health CEO and president Peter Fine for a Lifetime Achievement Award and dinner at the Wrigley Mansion honoring his invaluable support to The Joy Bus over the years. This event is open to anyone interested in celebrating an incredible supporter of better healthcare in Arizona. With his lifetime of service to help improve the lives of people across Arizona by delivering warm meals and caring smiles to Valley residents, Peter Fine will be joined by Rebecca Ailes-Fine, and Derrick and Amy Hall. The four are working to build a new facility for The Joy Bus, which will expand the organization’s 140 home visits to 2,500 meals by 2025. Enjoy fine food and drink, live music and bid on exciting auction items to raise funds to help The Joy Bus continue to deliver meals to homebound cancer patients.

Meals of Joy
It’s time for the fifth annual Meals of Joy Gala, island-style! Celebrate the community organization that continues to deliver hope, one meal at a time on Friday, October 21 from 6 to 9 p.m. The Hau’oli Luau will feature a Hawaiian-style buffet, décor, themed activities, live auction and entertainment. Since 2009, Meals of Joy founder Larry Cervarich has been on a mission to serve seniors in need across the West Valley by providing them with hot, ready-to-eat meals delivered directly to their doorstep. With funding from events like the gala, Meals of Joy was able to provide nearly 13,000 no-cost meals to seniors last year.
