Need a fall vacation? Consider a getaway to the foothills of the Boise Mountains. Idaho’s capital has something for everyone, from the history buff to the nature enthusiast to the foodie.
Cherie Buckner-Webb Park
The city teamed up with Capital City Development to turn a former parking lot into a brand-new urban park. Plenty of green space and seating make Cherie Buckner-Webb Park a beautiful reason to get outside. The park offers walking and bike paths, public art and restrooms.
The Warehouse Food Hall
This culinary hub is home to bars, bakeries, coffeehouses and restaurants, providing plenty of food options. The 29,000-square-foot Warehouse offers everything from gourmet grilled cheese to lobster rolls to açaí bowls. Start with a pastry at Gaston’s Bakery, grab a pie at Anzalone Pizza, and finish with a beer from The Loading Dock and a live show every Thursday from 5-8 p.m.
Erma Hayman House
This historical landmark is the former home of Erma Hayman, a black resident of Boise who lived in the house – the last original single-family home left on its block – from 1948 until her death in 2009. Hayman was an advocate for her neighborhood and a caring community member. The city is adding new artwork on the home’s exterior to educate people about Hayman’s life.
