Every week, we present a curated list of live music in a wide range of genres all around the Valley. This week, we’re focusing on legacy acts.

REO Speedwagon, Styx and Loverboy
Any rock band can put together a ballad, and then there’s REO Speedwagon. Tracks like “Can’t Fight This Feeling” and “Keep On Loving You” are rock radio staples. And Styx are no slouches either. Epic tracks like “Lady” and “Babe” have set the mood for the perfect slow dance for decades. $29.50-$354.50, 6:45 p.m., Ak-Chin Pavilion, 2121 N. 83rd Ave., Phoenix, 602-254-7200, livenation.com

Darius Rucker
Despite touring with his band Hootie and the Blowfish in 2019, Darius Rucker’s popularity as a country artist has cast a long shadow over his work with the ’90s alternative group. 8 p.m., $59.75-$79.75, Arizona Financial Theatre, 400 W. Washington St., Phoenix, 602-514-2919, azfederaltheatre.com

Encanto: The Sing-Along Film Concert Tour
Despite what the hit song’s title says, we know you’re talking with your kids about Bruno, the mysterious character from the hit Disney animated film Encanto. And if you’ve only seen it on a streaming service, Disney Concerts is putting together a cool event: a Sing-Along Film Concert featuring a live band performing the songs written by Hamilton’s Lin-Manuel Miranda for the film. Check website for prices. Ak-Chin Pavilion, 2121 N. 83rd Ave., Phoenix, 602-254-7200, livenation.com
July 24
Train, Jewel, Blues Traveler and Thunderstorm Artis
Despite how you feel about the “Meet Virginia” band, Train’s frontman Pat Monahan’s strong vocals won’t be denied. It comes from his years performing in a Led Zeppelin cover band, and now that you know that, you won’t be able to stop comparing him to Robert Plant. 6:30 p.m., $30.50-$100.50, Ak-Chin Pavilion, 2121 N. 83rd Ave., Phoenix, 602-254-7200, livenation.com
July 24
The Shins
The Shins’ debut album, Oh, Inverted World, is now old enough to buy a drink. To celebrate, the band is playing the entire record, which is perhaps best known for changing the life of Zach Braff’s character in the film Garden State. 8 p.m., $49.50-$139, Marquee Theatre, 730 N. Mill Ave., Tempe, 480-829-0707, luckymanonline.com
