Our Favorite New Craft Beer Releases This Week

You don’t have to go far to find a good beer in the Phoenix area. Local craft breweries churn out fresh new options every week and we are here to sample (or dream about) them as much as we can. These are our favorite new releases this week – drink and enjoy responsibly. 

Two new IPAs from Arizona Wilderness Brewing 

Hopheads are in heaven this weekend with the release of Master of Reality hazy IPA, the latest in the Dirty Hop Water series from the brewing team at Arizona Wilderness. The beer, which is inspired by the heavy metal rock band Black Sabbath, is out now.  

Then stay tuned for the Saturday release of Homestead session IPA, a light and refreshing brew that can be enjoyed during or after a nice hike or climb in the wilderness.  

Lone Mountain Scotch Ale at Wren House Brewing 

The nights are getting cooler and the beers are getting darker and roasted (“roastier” probably isn’t a word, right?). Lone Mountain Scotch ale is one of those styles you’ll slow sip while sitting by a patio fireplace somewhere in the Valley. Look for it in four-packs starting Friday. 

Need more hops in your life? Look for the new Oat Dankworth with Strata double IPA, which released earlier this week. 

Club 53 hazy IPA at Simple Machine Brewing 

It’s the perfect time to golf here in the Valley, if you can ignore the 40-handicap hackers that are gobbling up all the tee times. Nothing hits better after a good (or bad) round than an ice–cold craft beer. Simple Machine has just the thing brewed up: a hazy IPA collab for the folks at Paradise Valley Country Club (if you’re lucky enough to play there). It releases on Friday and will be limited in availability at the taproom in North Phoenix.  

Double Release at 12 West Brewing 

Settle in to the cozy Barnone location in Gilbert or the spacious, two-story Main Street location in Downtown Mesa with a pour of Smooth Transitions international pale ale or Wrong Place, Right Price fresh hop IPA. Both beers are on draft and available in cans right now.  

Going out of town?  

German Chocolate Cake at Borderlands Brewing 

Have your cake and drink it, too. Borderlands in Tucson is bringing back this fan favorite porter dessert on Saturday. It’s a sweet treat and one of the best beers this brewery has ever created.
