Dario Dizdar
The Phoenix police officer made headlines in August after the body of hiking partner Angela Tramonte was found near Camelback Mountain. Dizdar claims Tramonte, who was visiting from Boston, became fatigued in the 105-degree heat and the pair separated. Investigators initially found no signs of foul play, but the autopsy is pending.

Tony Navarrete 
Facing felony child molestation charges, the Democratic state senator resigned on August 11 in the midst of mounting pressure to step down from his position representing District 30, which includes parts of West-Central Phoenix and Glendale.

This 20-year-old skateboarding prodigy from Mesa competed in the Tokyo Olympics this summer and brought home a bronze medal, putting Arizona on the international stage and propelling street skating into the mainstream.
