What’s going on with your ballot? What new laws might make it less convenient for you to vote? Learn what’s happening in the Legislature that could impact your voting experience on May 13, when Arizona Humanities presents “Who Gets to Vote? A Discussion of Voting Rights Today” as part of the nonprofit organization’s Representation Matters conversation series. The free virtual events with experts in fields ranging from journalism to law spotlight the importance of representation in a democracy.
“Who Gets to Vote?” explores dozens of new voting measures introduced across the country, including in Arizona, that could affect voters and access to elections. Joshua Sellers, Associate Professor of Law in the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University, will be the speaker, and will discuss why these voting bills matter, whether or not they protect or suppress the public’s ability to vote, how the electoral process works, and what voting and the electoral college might look like in the future.
Guests can register here to participate in the voting rights discussion, taking place via Zoom on 6 p.m. Thursday, May 13.
