Experience a Love Story with a Twist
Scorpius Dance Theatre brings the story of David + Lisa to an outdoor stage, April 8-10. Inspired by the 1960s film of the same name, the fairytale follows two people who meet in a treatment center for young adults facing mental and psychological obstacles, and the unlikely attachment that develops between the volatile individuals. The production is choreographed by Lisa Starry and features dramatic black-and-white staging and original music. 7:30 p.m. $25. Seating is limited to ensure social distancing. Hit the Streets for a Downtown Wine Walk
The city’s best bars and restaurants pour delish drops at the Urban Wine Walk, April 10-17. Hosted by Downtown Phoenix Inc., the annual self-guided tour pivots from one day to an entire week, giving oenophiles more time – and more space – to safely celebrate Downtown venues at their own pace. Each participating location will serve 3-ounce wine samples paired with a small plate or snack for $5. Wine Walk specials will be served all week, with additional discounts and specialty offerings from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday during Wine Walk Happy Hour. Head for the Hills – It’s Festival Time!
Nearly 500 artisans from across the nation share paintings, sculpture, photography, jewelry, pottery and one-of-a-kind crafts at the Fountain Festival of Fine Arts and Crafts, April 9-11. Grab your tent and sleeping bags and enjoy a night of family fun as McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park presents Tents by the Tracks, April 10. A full dinner, movie, breakfast, and unlimited train and carousel rides are highlights. Attend a Virtual Gala to Support the Arts
Celebrate your love for the visual and performing arts as Scottsdale Arts pivots its annual fundraiser to a virtual celebration, April 10. The ARTrageous Gala – A Love Story features an online program commemorating the community impact of Scottsdale Arts and its branches – Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts, Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art, Scottsdale Public Art and Scottsdale Arts Learning & Innovation. Viewers will experience new art, cutting-edge augmented reality experiences and a silent auction, plus performances from Eva Noblezada, Seth Rudetsky and other artists who will appear at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts during the 2021–22 season.
