We often opt for a quick coffee run, but sometimes we want to sit, sip and stay awhile. These dual-function java joints and cafés located inside local businesses are perfect for leisurely lounging – or browsing through records, scoring some killer vintage or getting your hair done while you get your caffeine fix.

Gypsy Cup
This cute coffee bar is located inside MELT by Melissa, a “self-care studio” in Scottsdale that offers skincare, lash extensions and microblading. According to its Instagram, MELT by Melissa is dedicated to “enhancing your outer beauty while fueling your soul.” This mission aligns with Gypsy Cup’s mantra of “sippin’ on self-love,” because what fuels your soul more than a cup of coffee? Gypsy Cup also has a mobile coffee trailer that features three cold brew flavors on tap and three on nitro. Non-coffee drinkers will appreciate its hand-crafted lemonade, kombucha and tea options.

Snag specialty coffee, craft cocktails and inventive eats inside Modern Manor, a Melrose District destination for midcentury furniture, retro housewares and vintage clothing. Valentine opened last December and quickly gained notoriety for its creative coffee concoctions like a squash latte with mesquite, chiltepin and chocolate espresso and vanilla corn cappuccino. Naturally, it’s decked out with modern décor that’s the perfect backdrop for your next Instagram story.

Mojave Records + Coffee
TJ Jordan, the former owner of Revolver Records in Downtown Phoenix, married his passions for music, books and coffee in 2018 when he turned his tiny office near Arcadia Crossing into a record retailer and coffee purveyor. The small space is lined with bookshelves, record bins, acoustic guitars, hanging plants and other music-related memorabilia. Great iced vanilla lattes, too.

The ladies behind Valley vintage institution Junk in the Trunk Market opened The Vintage Arcadia last February, which houses this contemporary café that serves up coffee, tea, fresh-pressed juice, pastries, cocktails and heartier breakfast and lunch fare. Signature drinks include a honey lavender latte and the Shakereto (espresso and simple syrup served over ice). Grab a cuppa and peruse the boutique’s thoughtfully curated collection of new and vintage items.
